Remembering September 11

Posted by admin in 9/11, World Trade Center

I woke up six years ago getting ready for work and jumped into my car and was listening to a talk station out Chicago. It was an bizarre moment when I heard about a plane had hit the World Trade Center. I instantly thought that it was a small plane and thought how tragic that would be – not knowing that in fact it was a much larger plane and minutes later as I walked into my offce and watched the second plane hit the other tower. I stood there with my two coworkers stunned as the coverage continued and I never felt such anger as I did that morning.

At the time I was in the Air Force Reserves and knew my life would completly change after this day. Only 8 days later, I received the call to report to my base and I did without any hesitation at all. Hundreds of people were instantly activated and sent all over the world. Just as the lives of those tragically killed that day were affected so were thousands of military, police, fireman, etc would be as well. I proudly served my country and would do it again if needed.

I would like to send thoughts and prayers to all of those the families and hope we take a moment to remember this day and how our lives will never be the same.
