Keep running

Posted by admin in Uncategorized

As many of you know that I have participated in two mini marathons and with each race I improved on my time and so it has been a goal of mine to do even better for 2008.  The only way that can happen is to keep up with the training and be consistent.  Tonight right after a long day while on the road I decided to grab my ipod, my Nike+ shoes and get going.  I was very proud of myself since I was not only able to going farther but at a much faster pace as well.  Now all I need to keep doing it and I would like to ask your help by keeping me on track.

If you are a runner too and have a Nike+ shoes and sensors let me know so we can create a challenge to keep each other going.

Hanging out with Helen

Posted by admin in Uncategorized

Today was an interesting day – I told my youngest godchild that I would kidnap her for the day since her birthday was last Tuesday.  So I picked up “my date” and I took her to lunch – I asked her where she wanted to go and she surprised me by saying Subway so off we went to the mall and had our sandwiches, chips and soda.  We walked the mall and she remembered there was an arcade and want to play for a while – so we win some tickets and she was able to pick out what she wanted.  We went into another store and I bought her a sweater and a toy and continued on our way.  She saw the photo booth and so we took four crazy pics and she loved it.  We continued to walk the mall and checked out a few other stores and I bought Joe a sweater and hoped he likes it.  While we were in the store Helen saw they had this bear that you put an ipod in and it had LED lights and would react to the music.  She took it over to the price scanner and thought the price was $7.49 and she ask if I would buy it now for her and she would pay me back when we were back in the vehicle.  So I told her it would be ok but when the items were rung up  the price ended up being $23 I went ahead and paid for it.  I decided to tease her a bit and tell her well she is going to have to pay me when we get in the car and she surprised when she opened her purse and handed me the money and I told her I was joking – she smiled and said whew.  For some reason we decided to check out Target and we looked at everything they had and Helen found some new things she wanted with her money she received from Christmas.  I did some recording with her and she said she was very happy to spend the day with me and she loved me and I told her I loved her too – she is such a sweet kid!

I called her folks and we decided to go to dinner and so she picked IHOP and so we met them there and so did Joe with Starbuck – we had a quick dinner and then Joe and I went to see my sister to show off the puppy and of course like the others she thought he was adorable and of course he loved the attention.

After the dog made a few deposits we decided to leave and head for home.  Joe and I relaxed the rest of the night by watching the dvds from Netflix and we both enjoy the television show called The Closer.  It is really good and if you haven’t had the chance to watch I would recommend you check it out.

Puppy Love

Posted by admin in Uncategorized

puppy1.jpegToday was a fun day – Joe and I received the call about the puppy we had looked at the Humane Society. A woman had out a hold for two puppies decided to take only one and the ironic thing is that the one we had wanted was the one that was left. He is one adorable little guy and so Joe and I met after work to go pick him up. He is so quiet and lovable and we were like proud parents as we took him to show Joe’s sister. On the way to her place, Joe took the dog from me and we made the short drive to her apartment. As we got out of our vehicles I heard Joe make some noise and I saw him hold the dog with his arms outstretched and then saw the dog take his first shit on the sidewalk but he left a little “gift” on Joe’s shirt. He looked at me and said he had farted in the car just as he parked and was rushing to get the dog out in time.

I felt like a parent with his first baby at home – I have never had a dog before and so I was excited and nervous as the same time and so this will be a good experience for me. I am happy he is going to be part of our family! More details to come!

New Year New Dreams

Posted by admin in dreams, goals, weight loss

Life is funny especially this time of year – as the old year ends and a new one begins we are filled with thoughts of our dreams, our successes, our hopes and our sorrows. For some the end of year makes us want to lose weight – get a better job – find someone to love – get rid of something that creates pain. My life has been filled with many regrets and happiness and often it is how we look at life as to how we deal with these issues.

The thing I often forget is I am the one who can make those changes for the good or for bad. I remember years ago when I weighed over 215 lbs and how bad I felt at the time and it was setting a realistic goal of losing the weight just one week at a time that made me lose 35 lbs less a year later. I am happy to say that I have since maintained that weight for years and have set a new goal of 175 lbs by the end of the summer of 2008.

I remember years ago when I worked at this job and my boss had wanted me to have over 1 million dollars in sales and at the time I thought he was full of shit if he thought that was even possible. At the time I had a territory of over $480,000 and it would require me to increase my territory by over 50% that had never been done in this territory ever. I sat down and I set a goal for each week and each month and at the end of the year I had went over the goal and then some. It was an amazing accomplishment and I was very proud of myself.

I guess I am telling you this (and reminding myself) that anything is possible – you just have to have the heart and desire to make it and it can happen. So as I sit here writing this entry and you take the time to read it I hope that we can both achieve what we want in life and to never forget that we are here for a reason and we have to go after the dreams. No one is going to do them for us – we must do it!

I hope you will make a list of your dreams and never allow the negative voice in our heads tell you that you can not do it. Two and half years ago I wanted to have a podcast and little did I know that my show would have an impact on people’s lives like it does. Also, the added benefits that it has created for me as well.

I found this website and I wanted to share it with you and hope it will assist you in reaching your dreams. Here is the link: 43 Things If you decide to take the challenge – I would love to hear from you and would love to be a support to each other as we make the first steps to reach the goal.
